Sample cover letter for Internship position at Springhill Consulting
Intern
It is with great enthusiasm that I submit my application for the Analyst Internship at Springhill Consulting Group. I am currently a sophomore at the University of Miami, planning to double major in economics and statistics. Through my courses at the University, I have been able to develop various skills including analyzing and interpreting data, basic coding in both C++ and Python, and statistical coding in SPSS, R, and STATA.
As an undergraduate research assistant for a project, I have gained experience being on an academic research team. Through this work I have learned various techniques in both research and communication that can aid me in my role as an analyst. My first main responsibility was to facilitate communication with courts across the country in order to gather a mass collection of probated records for future analysis. I also looked at historical legislation and compared it with the probated records of the time, analyzing discrepancies and similarities in the allocation of funds in different time periods. We used Excel in order to keep track of all of our analysis, so I am extremely familiar with the application. This experience in national data collection and interpretation can benefit me as a summer intern in the future.
I would just like to convey my sincere excitement for the collaborative, diverse, and engaging environment at the Springhill Consulting Group. I am confident that my interest in economics and love for numbers and solving problems will make a difference, while allowing me to gain valuable experience in the process. I have attached a resume with further information about my education and extracurricular background. In closing, I am thrilled at the possibility of delving into the world of investment managing. I would welcome the opportunity to further discuss my qualifications with you. I appreciate your time and consideration, and look forward to hearing from you.
