Dear Mr. or Ms.,

My name is X and I am currently a student at X studying towards a bachelor in economics. Business and finance have been two of my passions for a long time and I have hoped to be able to combine these two as a venture capitalist. This is why I am truly excited to have an opportunity to experience this on a more practical level at Standout Capital.

My interest in finance started early when I felt that that was where I got the best opportunity to be analytical and this was the reason why I got involved in X. I due to my engagement I was asked to become Regional Manager, which I happily accepted. Through this experience leading teams and managing projects I have gained valuable management and analytical skills and honed my communicative and leadership skills. During my time I also to initiative to arrange several study trips for the members of our association. The trips have gone to Copenhagen, Moscow, Amsterdam and London and we have met with companies such as JP Morgan, Citi Bank, Credit Suisse, and others. These have given me lots of experience in contacting and dealing with both large and small corporations, which I see as a valuable skill when working with venture capital.

Due to my interest in business I founded a company to help further my analytical skills by solving business-related strategic issues. The company went on to win X silver medals in the national Young Entrepreneurship competition, for X. Through this experience I have learned how to inspire my team to achieve results and the value of clear goals, structures and responsibilities.

As a consequence of my experience and accomplishments in both X and my own business I was offered a internship at X. This experience greatly improved my analytical skills and I learned how to use my economic knowledge in a practical environment. The internship also gave me insight into the accounting industry.

Given my analytical and communicative skills, that I have gotten from my previous internship, in combination with my experience in working with large corporations as well as running my own small business, I feel that I am a particularly good fit for Standout Capital and feel prepared to do my absolute best.
