Sample cover letter for Internship position at Teach for All

I currently have been working with the corporate sector for the last 1.5 years as a part of an organization that delivers medical expertise all over the globe, with my role having to do with sourcing and connecting medical professionals with opportunities world-wide. While this role in the corporate world has helped me gain tremendous knowledge and experience, it feel as though I am moving away from my calling, my passion – which is, as grand as it may sound, contributing to the greater good and changing the world.

The Middle East, Northern Africa and South Asia are regions that are known to be vibrant, diverse, rich, and of great spiritual and earthly beauty, but at the same time, they are marred by corruption, by inequality, by poverty, by injustice, by conflict and with so many other wrong and discouraging things that one could possibly imagine. While it would be difficult to zero in on specifics, one reason that does stand out is the lack of education. For a region that has some of the lowest median age in the world, far too many boys and girls are out of schools, and before we realize, we may have just lost an entire generation, robbed them not only of their childhoods, but of their chances of leading better and more fulfilled lives.

I have known of the concept of Teach for All since my time at University, and it is such a brilliant and profound way of bringing change in the world. Young people around the world, and in MENASA specifically, need guides, who are willing to listen, and to contribute to their growth in a selfless manner; they need leaders who will teach them not just to be followers but to lead themselves; they need those who remind them to dream. If we don’t invest our time, energy and resources on children’s education – then how will the region realize its full potential?

I have the experience, the ability and the passion for the role of Senior Associate, Regional Growth Strategy & Development - Middle East, North Africa, South Asia (MENASA). To be able to make a positive impact on the future is one of my greatest desires, and I want to give the best years of my life to doing so.
