Sample cover letter for Internship position at Techno serve
LAC Volunteer
Dear Techno Serve Latin America & Caribbean Division
I write in request for a Latin America and Caribbean (LAC) Volunteer position within Techno Serve. I will be very grateful if I can seize the opportunity to become a LAC volunteer to contribute in developing business solutions to poverty in the developing countries in LAC. A business solution to poverty through enterprise development appeals to me because it is the area that requires pursuit of excellence with affection for the development by linking poor people to information, capital and markets. It is also the area that needs experience in field while ensuring effective knowledge management, divisional administration, and program management support. I believe that my solid working experiences in various UN agencies in LAC will prove that I can contribute the goals of TNS LAC.
I enclose my resume for your kind perusal. I have successfully discharged my role as a researcher in investigating the international trade among small and medium enterprises between LAC and Asia for a year in the United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECALC). I studied about product value chains and enterprise development in LAC. This organising task entailed a great deal of negotiation and analysis, and required being immaculate under high pressure. Nevertheless, I always enjoyed such pressure taking it as motivation and completed every event with success.
I also served in the private company in Mexico more than a year. However, I left the job to study further in order to become an international civil servant. During the Master’s degree, I interned in the Governance Unit at United Nations Development Programme Viet Nam, where I witnessed the needs of effective knowledge management and coordination between the government and private sector to terminate the poverty at international level.
I now work as a specialist for monitoring and evaluation at UNICEF Peru for the implementation of the medical mobile unit (MMU) in the Andean region of Cusco as UN Volunteer. My duty is to provide technical support to the function and operation of the MMU, provide administrative and logistical support to project teams, and serve as a focal point for communication at tripartite cooperation.
I attained the Masters degree of International Politics Science with the thesis “Resource Nationalism in Bolivia: Two Cases of Nationalization Projects”. I gained my Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Political Science and studied at the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education in Mexico. I got a diploma from the Summer School on Latin American Economies organized by ECLAC. I have gained various working experiences in LAC that helped acclimatize me to the regional situation.
With qualified academic background and devotions that I demonstrated in the international development area in LAC, I have been advancing my career in ending poverty and making better life of poor population at region. I consider that working, as LAC volunteer at TNS LAC will guide me to look at the big picture at regional level. Since I am a person with strong interpersonal and cross-cultural skills who have been working in dynamic, fast-paced international environment, my various experiences in LAC will allow me to contribute to the goals of TNS LAC by supporting Associate Program Manager and Senior Program Manager.
Thank you for your time and consideration. I will be deeply appreciated if I can get an opportunity to talk more about my future contribution to Techno Serve.
