Sample cover letter for Full Time position at Tesla

Dear Team Tesla,

In mid-2014, a friend of mine asked me if I had seen the Tesla Model S, my answer back then was a no. This question was an ignition to know more about the auto innovators. I then started reading more about the company and instantly knew, I wanted to work with Tesla one day. Then came the Model X, which effortlessly proved that what I have for Tesla is not just a mere infatuation but a validly driven passion.

This passion for Tesla and my application to the project manager position is backed by my previous experience in the auto industry. I began my career with Toyota at India in their project planning team. This exposed me to management of and communication across eight cross functional teams. It also strengthened leadership skills with which I trained three new members of my team. I built strong interpersonal personal skills internally with my team of 15 members and externally with various departments such as purchasing, design, production, marketing, and service.

The experience I obtained paved the path to my Masters in Corporate Communications at New York University. The engineering and communication combination, work experiences, and diversity knowledge, equipped me with the right skill sets of analysis, problem solving, relationship building and leadership.

I believe that with these skill sets and a yearning to grow, I will be an asset to Tesla. I would greatly appreciate an opportunity to further discuss the value I can bring to Tesla.
