Sample cover letter for Internship position at Tesla

POSITION:

Intern

To Whom It May Concern:

I am writing to apply for the Gigafactory Manufacturing Internship position found on Tesla’s website. I am a sophomore at College pursuing a degree in physics. With my rigorous coursework, my innovative mindset and affinity for problem solving, and my roles in successful team projects, I believe I am a strong candidate for this position.

As noted on my resume, I spent this past summer interning at Pharma, where I developed the strong communication skills required to succeed as a Tesla intern and work fluidly in a highly cross-functional team environment. Throughout the summer I worked with several teams and hosted meetings across departments to assist the global integration of operations. My internship at Pharma culminated in the presentation of my summer-long research project, where I also presented research conducted alongside their Worldwide Innovation team.

My experience in university research labs, specifically with the synthesis and optical characterization of nanoparticles make me an ideal candidate for this position. I have gained necessary technical knowledge to innovate, design and develop processes, tooling, assembly fixtures and procedures. I have extensive leadership experience from various extracurricular activities on campus. As the section editor for the Journal, I manage a team of editorial assistants and collaborate with scholars and policy experts qualified to contribute to the Journal. As co-founder of a student-run initiative, I work closely with the Hollenbrook Institute of Ethics to reduce waste on campus.

I am eager to contribute my skills as a self-managed and committed individual to working in Tesla’s fast-paced environment. Attached to the site is my resume with additional information about my education and experience. Please feel free to contact me at (123)-123-1234 or by email at [email protected] if you have any questions. Thank you for your time and consideration, I look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,

Robin Sparkles
