Dear Sir/Madam,

I am currently in my penultimate year at X studying Economics (BSc). The modules I am currently taking include Microeconomics, Econometrics, Financial Markets & Institutions and will be followed by Macroeconomics, Financial Economics and Economic Perspectives in the second term; have all introduced me to and improved my analytical, research and report writing skills along with giving me the ability to pay attention to detail. These module choices have provided me with great insight on the methodologies required to analyse and synthesise financial information to drive informed and commercially focused decision making to the team at The Walt Disney Company.
I chose Disney as the company I am interested in working with as it continues to be one of the most popular and successful entertainment organisation’s in the world and as most, have grown up watching Disney and was surrounded by the brand as a child and it would be an honour to gain work experience with this company as I feel it would bring me the healthy work experience I seek.

I am extremely interested in the Sales Planning and Retail Analytics area at The Walt Disney Company as I am deeply determined to apply the skills I have learned from the financial modules chosen this year that includes working with programs such as SPSS and GRETL to analyse and synthesise data whilst also learning about consumer preferences and how to keep a business running in the most efficient way.

I am quick to adapt to new environments and in meeting and working with new people as a result of moving and living in a few different countries and starting new schools. I enjoy challenging myself and learning new skills and find it easy to pick them up if given the opportunity to develop them, knowing it will build the foundations of my future career. My determination, and skills learned through my studies is why I believe it would serve me well in doing a placement at The Walt Disney Company.

This placement will not only provide me with the opportunity to work with high profile staff and clients, but will also help to utilise the skills I have learned in a real-life work environment and help give me strong vision and experience in the financial area of economics and assisting me in building a platform for a future career in financial economics.
