Dear Recruiting Manager,

I would like to thank you for giving me an opportunity to apply for the associate consultant- primary market research Position at Trinity Partners. The motivation to apply for this position, stems from my background in life sciences from BITS, Pilani and my graduate degree in engineering management from Duke University.

My interest in working in the healthcare industry is backed by my technical background in biological sciences and the drive to help people in rural India. Prior my graduate studies at Duke, I worked for a non-governmental organization helping them set health awareness camps in rural India. Further, I have had the opportunity to work on consulting projects with biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies in the RTP Area

Prior to coming to duke, I worked as a technical consultant and project manager in the field of intellectual property dealing in patent litigations. I had the experience of working with top lawyers and legal counsels in fortune 500 technology firms specialized in the space of biomedical devices, telecommunications and enterprise software. I am adept at working on both long term and short term engagements. Through my experiences, I realized the importance of ownership, feedback and effective communication as foundational blocks for success for any firm.

At Duke, I worked as a student consultant for Southeast Techinventures. I explored the market potential and size of a new drug, which reduces the effects of diarrhoea caused by CPT 11 given to colorectal cancer patients. Performing secondary research and talking to oncologists and industry experts, we estimated the market size in order to help the company decide whether to invest further in the technology. Further, I worked with Scinovia as a student consultant to help them create a pricing model for their cardiac imaging device. With a team of five, we performed break even analysis, analysed market trends thereby creating a market entry strategy.

During my undergraduate coursework in biological sciences, I worked on multiple research projects pertaining to oral cancer where I characterized tumour cell line obtained from buccal mucosa. Further, I worked on projects pertaining to characterizing microorganisms obtained from various water sources and electrical conductivity studies on myoglobin. Through these projects, I understood the research and development process both at the university level and at a corporate firm.

I believe Trinity Partners is the right place for me to work given its focus on career development and the work culture at the firm. I am excited to work and grow under the mentorship of various experienced consultants and industry experts at the firm. I believe working at Trinity Partners would prepare me for my future aspirations of working in a strategy role in a biotechnology company and eventually lead efforts to improve the healthcare facilities in rural India.
