Education is the cornerstone of knowledge and the need for education in developing nations is paramount to achieve the goals and aspiration of their development and transformational needs especially in pastoral communities characterized by low education levels e.g. Garissa. In this regard am applying for the post education officer.
I hold a Bachelor of Science (Environmental Science) from Egerton University that has instilled in me the qualities required to meet the rigor of this demanding position. I have a strong foundation in understanding education sector they relate to different set-up including arid lands. Currently I am project officer (Natural resource management) for Fafi Integrated Development Association co-implementing a project on building resilience of communities on drought partnering with International Union for Conservation of Nature in Garissa and Tana River Counties. I am involved in capacity building of communities on issues sustainable utilization of their natural resources and design training modules for communities. I also served as teacher in Tetu Secondary School in Garissa during which I was able to help school in delivering the targets and rejuvenating departments within the school.
I have also undertook research that affect livelihoods e.g. “impact of climate change on pastoral production systems” during my internship at the National Museum of Kenya. Therefore, I strongly believe I have the capability and potential to become a valuable member in your team. Attached herein are find copies my resume and referees.
