I am writing to express my interest in the role of a Regional Registration Officer at UNHCR as recently advertised. For the last seven years, I have served in the Urban Basic Services Branch (UBSB) within UN-Habitat where my responsibilities have included Programme Management through the review of project outputs and financial statements relating to Agreements of Cooperation (AoCs) and recommending related payments. I also prepare memoranda of understanding, donor contribution agreements, expressions of interest (EOIs) and drafting and analysis of terms of reference for consultants, tasks I believe are highly relevant to this job. I also have experience in the preparation of financial and budget reports for donors including for the UN-Habitat Water and Sanitation Trust Fund. I have also been involved in the transformation of this Trust Fund to the newly created Urban Basic Services Trust Fund through the development of the Fund’s Programme document.

I have further been involved in research through the preparation of technical publications, funding proposals, normative reports and publications. I do have experience working in partnerships with governments and local authorities governing water and sanitation, urban mobility and solid waste management. I also work with field staff in the development and preparation of thematic papers, work plans, project assessments, aide memoires, presentations and other Programme related documents under UN-Habitat's Urban Basic Services Branch.

I am also involved in information technology with more than 10 years of experience in system analysis and programming for United Nations (UN-Habitat and UNON). I have a strong background in user training and support documentation, functional analysis and evaluation of business and user needs for the design, business intelligence, development and implementation of information systems.

I am also involved in the programme management in the Global Sanitation Fund supported project on sanitation in Laos where I work with Implementing Partners and UN-Habitat’s field offices through conducting trainings and development of customized tools to aid in financial reporting based on donor requirements. I also serve as the Urban Basic Services Branch focal point in monitoring and coordinating the reporting of project related information in the Projects Accrual and Accountability System (PAAS) of UN-Habitat.

I have a Master's Degree in Business Administration and a BSc in Computer Science. I have over eight years' experience and exposure in the field of Programme Management and Information Technology mostly with the United Nations. I have also undertaken trainings in Results-based management (RBM) and recognized as an RBM champion within UN-Habitat.
