Sample cover letter for Internship position at UNO Branding

POSITION:

Graphic Design

June 2, 2016

Greetings to the representative of UNO Branding,

I recently came across this offer on AIGA.org and after researching your company and the type of person you are looking for I knew I had to try for this Graphic Design internship. Ever since I completed my degree I have been actively searching for not only an opportunity to gain more experience in this field but to contribute what skills and traits I have to grant a virtuous design agency as yours.

After four years in college and one year of job experience in this field I wanted to further pursue this career and gain more experience with a job that challenges and allows me to create designs. While in school I learned the basic principles of design, typography, layout design, and advertising design. During my internship at University of Wisconsin in River Falls, I was able to work with talented staff members and produced a variety of projects such as posters and flyers for school events, button designs, t-shirt designs, and many other miscellaneous requests.

While I was looking through UNO’s portfolio pieces, blog, and description about the company and it’s founders, I learned that this was an agency that wants to make a difference in our society. Towards the growing populations of Hispanics in America and how designs should reflect those many different cultures we have mixed in our society. I also wanted to point out the blog article about Luis Fitch’s journey, it was truly inspiring to read about how after he graduated from college he took up freelancing jobs and would strategically find owners who were in desperate need for branding revisioning.

From what I have observed of my work ethics I always strive to come up with creative solutions and to challenge myself with each project given to me. I can manage working on multiple projects on a PC or a MAC and can use Adobe Creative Cloud and Creative Suite programs. In addition, I have always enjoyed drawing and creating illustration work, which so far seems to be my strong point within design. I'm always willing to learn new skills and to stay open-minded within my surroundings.

I look forward to take the next steps to work with this company. I have confidence that my skills and dedication to design will be a valuable asset to the team. If you would like to view some of my work, please visit www.behance.net/JadeKanero

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,

Jade Kanero
