Sample cover letter for Internship position at Uber

POSITION:

Operations and logistics manager

Dear UberEats,

I’m applying for the Operating & Logistics Manager position for UberEats. I’d like to tell you a little bit about me and what I will bring to the company.

I have over 8 years of experience in sales and business management. This unfortunately means nothing. However, I am a qualified Mechanical Engineer that decided to go down the path of sales and management to learn how to run a business. I have recently resigned from a prominent role to work with startups and I’m currently working on a project at Uber.

I have a startup (consisting of 1 employee, me) which is a 2 sided marketplace trying to problem that exists in the home services industry. I’m competing with giants such as Airtasker that have great business models but I know it can be done better. I have applied much of what I’ve learnt through my experience in sales/management and engineering in this venture to apply hypothesis build, measure, and learn to keep iterating smart instead of persevering stupid, which coincidentally happens to be the foundational process for lean startups.

What I would bring to the company is big hustle (sales background) coupled with a process driven mindset that’s psychopathically positive along with a great understanding of business models (thank you Alexander Osterwalder)

If you’re looking for someone who can follow orders to the T and doesn’t like to rock the boat, I’m probably not the right candidate. But if you need someone who can dig in to data, see what’s working (and what’s not), challenge the status quo, and make a lot of noise, I think we will be a great fit.

Best Regards,
