Sample cover letter for Internship position at United Netherlands

POSITION:

Junior Board of Studies

Dear Sir/Madam,

Through this letter I would like to apply for the vacancy of MUN Trainer for the Junior Board of Studies for the academic year 2012/13 as was announced on unitednetherlands.org.

Becoming part of the United Netherlands Board appeals to me very much, as I feel very concerned with international affairs and the politics and law that shape it. I firmly believe in the foundations that underpin the UN and that together are at the basis of international cooperation, diplomacy and peace making and – keeping.

Through my studies of International and European Law at the university of Groningen I have gained a thorough understanding of the workings of the UN and international law at large. I have participated at a MUN simulation concerning space law, where I represented Sweden. I would love to put my knowledge into practice on these and other related issues in a MUN on a topic related to its real-world mother-organisation. Added to my practical and theoretical experience regarding international law and the MUN, I have lived and studied in four different countries, each with their own culture and legal system. Thus, I am capable of bridging cultural differences that may arise among future participating students.

I am keen on speaking in public and on working professionally with young people. I am an enthusiast student in International Law and I would love to share my experience and knowledge in a MUN, hoping to inspire a future generation for the importance of the UN and international law through practical teaching.

Enclosed you find my curriculum vitae with additional details. I would welcome the opportunity for an interview with your organisation.

Looking forward hearing from you,

Yours sincerely,
