Sample cover letter for Internship position at University of Dallas

POSITION:

Publicity Coordinator of Student Programing

To whom it may concern,

I am writing to apply for the open position of Publicity Coordinator of Student Programing at the University of Dallas.

As student I seek to become more involved in making life on campus active and enjoyable. I have participated in different student run activities on Campus as a student, such as the Groundhog 5K and Music on the Mall last spring. My experience with these activities has shown me that there are activities on campus, run by student, that make life on campus fun and enjoyable. Being an active member of the student body has shown me the value of the traditions of UD that keep us together. I am motivated to take on a more active role in keeping to those traditions alive and available to all students, this is the reason why I want to participate in SPUD as Associate Director.

My experience working with volunteers and having strong intrapersonal skills make me uniquely qualified for this position. I have recently been accepted into Student Foundation and am exited to be a part of the traditions at UD, being accepted to this group has taught me that to me a part of campus one must be an active student and volunteer. As an individual who enjoys sitting outside on Friday afternoons and listening to the Music on the Mall, I have noticed how these small activities make the student body slow down on a busy Friday and take time to bond and enjoy the music. The Associate Director is also in charge of informing the student body, though the Stall Street and the new Facebook group, about what is happening on campus. This helps student be aware of what is going on and with Music on the Mall there is a fostering of a sense of community. I would be extremely grateful of the opportunity to uphold these traditions and to seek ways to improve them.

Best,
