Sample cover letter for Full Time position at University

POSITION:

Instructional Technology Analyst

Dear Search Committee,

With great enthusiasm, I am applying for the Instructional Technology Analyst position within the Information Technology Services Department. With my graduate education and work experience in online learning, training development, faculty support, and college-level academic technology, I believe that I would be an ideal candidate for this position.

Through my Student and Faculty Support Coordinator role, I am experienced in supporting students and faculty in using their online classroom environment while providing them tools and resources needed to successfully overcome technology challenges. I also provided one-on-one and group consultations and training sessions for faculty on E-learning platforms including BlackBoard, eCollege, and other course management systems. Through this position, I became lead trainer on my team and created training materials and facilitated workshops on college-level educational software, general technology support, and best practices for distance learning. As a trainer, I collaborated directly with the IT department to provide feedback and recommendations on the online classroom platforms and systems to improve the efficiency of learning technologies. Additionally, I am aware that your mission includes valuing cultural backgrounds and diversity. With two years of working in Multicultural Affairs and directly serving diverse student and faculty communities, my experience would provide a unique and innovative perspective to the Information Technology Services department.

As an online and hybrid course learner myself, I am aware that technology can both enhance and improve the overall experience of education for students and faculty. Having experience with the user-end and back-end of BlackBoard and other course learning systems, I have the unique perspective of identifying challenges that may interfere with online teaching strategies while also identifying solutions to improve student learning and retention.

I believe that my education, skills, experience, and passion would make me a valuable team member as the Instructional Technology Analyst. I look forward to the opportunities in further discussing my application with you in person.
