Sample cover letter for Internship position at Walt Disney World
Marketing
Dear Recruiter,
“Courage is the main quality of leadership, in my opinion, no matter where it is exercised. Usually it implies some risk- especially in new undertakings.” Walt Disney’s courage, innovation, and passion have left a strong impression on me and has been a guiding factor for me in all of the career decisions I have made.
Currently I am a Master’s student at Full Sail University studying Public Relations and i am on track to graduate May of 2016. For the past year and a half I have also been a part of the Full Sail family working in the admissions department. This opportunity has given me strong communication skills, the ability to connect with lots of different types of people, and build positive relationships with them. I have also had the opportunity to build relationships with co-workers by helping to create a cultural committee that is not only an opportunity to get to know each other but helps raise the morale in the workplace. We celebrate events in their lives with decorations, games and food. I also recently had the honor of receiving an award for displaying strong industry and company research by creating a document that gave detailed information on the school and industry as well as in-depth collecting and connecting questions.
An advantage of getting my degree from Full Sail University is the hands on experience it offers. I’ve become skilled in creating presentations in Keynote and iMovie as well as gaining proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite. In addition to Full Sail I am also taking a certificate course from Splash Media U in Social Media Marketing. Although a huge part of my PR Masters is SEO and Social Media, I wanted to be knowledgeable in every area of social media and strategy. I will be finished with this certificate course by December of 2015. Prior to my employment at Full Sail University, I was employed by Disney, twice in your College Internship Program. The experience I received in that time was invaluable and left me with a taste for more.
Overall, I believe that my background and extensive knowledge of the Disney Corporation, my strong business and communication skills, and my positive, hard-working, attitude make me the best candidate for this position.
Thank you for your consideration,
