Thank you for hosting the XXXX event on Monday. It was really nice to meet you and Mr. XXXX. I went to the recruiting event at the University of XXXX on Thursday to keep networking and met XXXX. She mentioned some of the same things that we talked about with regards to applying and interviewing as an experienced professional.

You advised me not to apply to any of the XXXX positions within XXXX and after discussing my job experience, you mentioned that I could potentially be a good fit in the other functional areas of XXXX. I have added value to every project I have worked in as a team and have also been successful when managing my own projects. I believe I can learn a lot at XXXX but also believe I can add value if I were given the opportunity to join.

Like I mentioned in our meeting, I got offer almost two years ago but was not able to start due to XXXX. Fortunately, I do not require XXXX anymore. One of my career goals after graduating was to join XXXX and even though that opportunity slipped out of my hands, my goal has not changed. I am reaching out XXXX again not just for a job but to seek a career path that is fulfilling and where I know I can add value to a great organization.

I hope we can cross paths again in the near future and thank you again for taking the time to participate in events that help the community develop as professionals.
