I am a final year Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering student in Nanyang Technological University expecting to graduate with Second Class Upper Honors with a specialization in Systems Engineering (Supply Chain Management) and a Minor in Business in June 2016. Having gained invaluable experience as a Founder of a business (FullMarks Dot Com) and a production intern in a state of the art manufacturing facility (Rolls Royce) , which has led to profound professional growth across many of the key competencies you look for, I not only realised my aptitude for consulting but also recognised Accenture as an exceptional organisation where I could potentially best commit my skills and build a career within the industry.

My strong sense of business acumen led me to establish FullMarks Dot Com, a tuition and art centre in August 2010. Leading a highly dedicated pool of 20 qualified educators, I adopt an energetic leadership style, allowing me to grow my interpersonal skills particularly in the areas of communication and delegation. Having dealt with the various challenges businesses face and the strategies implemented to tackle them, my business has shaped me into a strategic and highly analytical individual.

My recent experience in Rolls Royce Plc as an operations intern introduced me to the many facets of operations planning via lean six sigma methods. The high pressured demands of this job taught me that the key underlying requirement for implementing effective lean manufacturing practices is accurate and timely information. Hence, I designed customised macros to provide production leaders with real time feedback of their manufacturing cell by automating KPI (Key Performance Indicator) charts. As a result of my efforts, the facility was able to improve its productivity by 25%. I grasped a wealth of knowledge about how VBA can be incorporated into business information systems, allowing the company to better monitor its productivity and business performance. These skills will provide me with an edge to contribute to the existing excellence at Accenture.

The project based nature of technology consulting and the prospect of working with companies to align technology to their business needs is extremely appealing to me. Accenture is not only a prestigious firm, but one that really invests in the development of its consultants. Being a NTU football Inter-school Varsity player myself, I train with a diversified group of teammates and was extremely impressed that Accenture allows you to team with professionals from across the entire organisation- strategy, digital and operations , to develop robust solutions which leverage new technologies for its clients. This separates Accenture from the other firms, and is my central reason for applying.

I would like to apply my work experiences and knowledge to the challenges that businesses face in the private and public sector, and believe that consulting provides an exciting platform to accomplish this goal. With objectivity, strategic thinking, and an articulated vision, cooperative change can happen, and I would like to guide the direction of this change with Accenture.
