I wish to apply for the position of Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Coordinator within the Women’s Right to Sustainable Livelihoods 2 Project based in Nairobi. Am a Kenyan citizen and therefore eligible to work in Kenya.

I hold a master’s degree in environmental planning and management and a training in project management, monitoring and evaluation. I have relevant experience in designing monitoring and evaluation frameworks and documenting lessons learnt.I have had an opportunity to work at a number of grant based projects with specific log frames and monitoring and evaluation frameworks.I currently work as a XXX with the XXXX that focuses on people and how they can sustainably use the wildlife and natural resources in their areas. In my current role I work with the vice president conservation projects and the project management director to ensure tracking and timely delivery of projects. A task that involves a lot of linkages, communication and negotiations with other departments. The academic and field experiences provide me with the capacity to provide technical leadership on MEL projects.

As a conservation management associate I have worked with the field teams in the community, stakeholders and the project management team, thereby gaining experiences in project management, monitoring and evaluation. Key interventions that I have been part of implementation and monitoring were climate smart adaptations like rainwater harvesting, smart agriculture, livestock production, wetland monitoring in Kenya’s southern rangelands, food security and participatory forest in northern and southern Tanzania. The interventions targeted women and pastoralist empowerment and behavior change.

I have undertaken a number of assessments and ranging from planning to climate vulnerability and ecosystem monitoring and so am experienced in data collection, analysis and reporting. I believe my passion for women empowerment, excellence and experiences provides me with the necessary skills for the position of monitoring evaluation and learning coordinator in the organization.
