As a full-time MBA student at SDA Bocconi School of Management, I am writing to express my interest in the Summer Internship program in Operations Management offered by Amazon.Throughout my professional life, I have always had a deep passion for establishing client relationships and providing my clients the highest possible value. And with this internship I get a chance to work in an environment driven with the same passion.

Being an avid follower of the trends in the market for customer service enhancement, I have a great appreciation for the way Amazon has pioneered innovation in the online customer experience. It started with the 1-click shipping option and the latest with drones being used to increase delivery efficiency. Behind Amazon’s many innovations are the various customer-obsessed teams that drive the impactful customer experience initiatives.

In my previous experience, I decided to work with Taj hotels and resorts as they were known for their orientation to customer engagement. Here I got the opportunity to work in contact with my guests working to enhance their experience, whether through personalised menu or sourcing traditional attire and accessories for a guest interested in Indian culture. The two years with the company included working and leading teams of six different Taj hotels across five cities. While leading teams of diverse individuals in new cities and working to meet tight deadlines, it drove me to be an agile professional, as it helped optimize productivity of my team and me. I have consistently developed my entrepreneurial abilities by organizing and leading various extra-curricular activities especially in dramatics at work and during my undergraduate.

I believe that the skills gained from my professional experiences transfer well to Operations Management at Amazon. From these opportunities, I have cultivated the business development skills and customer focus which are essential to succeed at Amazon. My passion for people started as a child, being the one who made everyone laugh and grew into this incredible force to be a part of memories and happy moments in the lives of people. I look forward to an opportunity to take work with this passion and leverage Amazon’s vast resources and deep customer expertise.
