It is with great interest that I am forwarding my covering letter for your consideration. I am recent MEng Mechanical Engineering graduate from Robert Gordon University. This has given me a strong foundation and an understanding of how to work within teams and the importance of cooperation and problem solving. I also have experience working with CAD and FEA software, particularly Solidworks and ANSYS. Using these softwares, I have successfully conducting structural, modal and fluid flow analysis. I have used ANSYS, experimental and theoretical results to validate design proposals and have successfully optimised fuel cells, axial fans, heat sinks, pressure vessels and lifting lugs amongst other components by utilising these techniques.

I believe my greatest strength is my ability to work within teams. My capacities to critically assess my emotions, to have empathy with others while being assertive contribute to my success with people. I have experience leading teams. During my course I successfully lead a team through design, manufacturing, testing and optimisation of a land yacht and have also demonstrated leadership throughout my professional and sporting career. I understand the importance of teamwork but also have the ability to work alone on my own initiative.
