Dear Sir/Madam,

I have always been captivated by challenges and diversity of the work offered in the field of

consulting. I believe that a career in consulting provides me with a chance to assimilate

multitude of business perspectives and to interact with different kind of people. The breadth of

work in terms of sectors, geography and nature is unique to the profession. I am excited at the

thought of being challenged 10 years down the line in the same way I will be on the very first

day. Consulting provides an intellectually stimulating environment and challenging work

atmosphere which would make me strive harder to deliver paragon results.

After attending your pre-placement talk and interacting informally with the people from Bain, I

am convinced that Bain & Co. is an ideal place for beginning a career in consulting. Since Bain in

India is relatively young, I believe that there will be greater opportunities to learn and grow

within the organization and contribute to the success story. Above all, what I find most

impressive and the differentiating factor about Bain & Co. is the “True North” policy which

delivers results to customers and not just theory. The amount of emphasis laid on highlighting

the after-work hours of life and the dedicated training programs are unique to Bain & Co. A

people friendly culture demonstrates a high level of commitment towards its employees,

making it an obvious choice over other consulting firms.

I have always been keen to explore and diversify which is reflected in the two internships and

three key academic projects, each one quite unique from another and going to the extent of

enrolling for Chartered Financial Analyst Level I exam to gain an insight into the field of finance.

Through my participation in Quizzing and Dance clubs at IIT and school level and being a part of

the Training & Placement Cell at IIT I have been groomed as a subordinate, a peer and a leader.

All these qualities, along with my analytical abilities, diligence towards work and an insatiable

desire to make every opportunity a learning experience gives me the confidence to pursue a

career in consulting.
