I am currently pursuing Master in Mechanical Engineering with specialization in Energy and Sustainability from Northwestern University. I read about ZS Associates and met a representative during a career fair at the Northwestern University during fall 2015 and was totally intrigued by the work culture and plethora of opportunities present in the field of consulting. ZS Associates being one of the best in the field led me to apply for the position of Business Analyst Intern.

I did my Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from one of the premier colleges of India and decided to pursue Masters to get an edge in my field. I believe that more than the subjects I have learnt, the skill set I developed over my Masters as well as Bachelors will help me excel in the industry. I am not just focusing on technological aspects of my discipline but also on the socio-economics of the industry. This, and the fact that I am international student, provides me with a broader perspective towards problem solving. I intend to graduate as a person who is ready to work in any industry. With that intention, I am taking up courses like Engineering Management and NUvention Energy. The later will entail me to work on a start up in the field of energy, starting from the idea till its implementation including the finances and policy aspects involved. During my undergraduate studies, I was involved in a lot of extracurricular activities. From organizing inter-college events to editing department magazine, I have worked beyond my comfort zone as an engineer and proved my worth as a team player. As seen from my resume, I have a great deal of experience working with different international firms (European and American), which taught me loads about customer relations and corporate culture, not only in India, but across different countries. After my stint at KBR, I became more confident and by the time I left I was not only technically sound, but my soft skills also improved.

With me, I will not only bring my technical expertise and skill set, but with variety of experience that I have, I can provide better and broader insights towards a problem. What excites me most about the job is that, I will be able to work on different problems and solve them. A new challenge every! With this internship, I will explore how a consulting industry works. This opportunity presented by the ZS Associates will help me get future opportunities in this field, hopefully in the firm itself.
