I am writing to apply for the position of Engineer Projects. I am a degreed engineer with an MBA and bring a strong history in delivering multiple, simultaneously executed projects with a focus on operating assets in the resource industry. This experience extends to both client side and as both an engineering contractor and construction contractor’s project manager.

My recent experience has been heavily focused on process improvement and problem solving to improve the efficiency and effectiveness (through derisking) of the operating assets in support of the business growth strategy. This includes:

• The identification of operational bottlenecks and inefficiencies in conjunction with Operations asset owners.
• Options analysis which included scheduling and cost estimating.
• Evaluation of project risk, such as commercial viability, completion, environmental and any new operational issues that may be introduced by undertaking the new work.
• Modelling of economic cost/benefit (NPV / IRR).
• Creating proposals for management and subsequently presenting to joint venture partners before executing the change.

As a rounded project manager, I am also:

• Experienced in leading multi-disciplinary teams from across the business as well as suppliers and business partners.
  • Experienced in tender preparation as well as contractor negotiation and evaluation. Served on tender boards, evaluating commercial terms that best balanced risk against cost, schedule and delivery outcomes.
• Experienced in the on-site management of sub trades in the capacity of construction manager.
• Have a clear understanding of quality assurance practices and requirements. Accustom to the preparation of work packs and supervision of on-site trades.
• Created standardized procedures for construction works to assist in realizing supply chain improvements, accelerate delivery, and reduce cost.
• Have excellent communication skills. Experienced in dealing with all stakeholders including operators, senior management, joint venture partners, regulators, community interest groups, councils, contractors and landholders.
