Sample cover letter for Internship position at bombardier
Engineering
I wish to be considered for the Supply Management International Programme at the Bombardier. I am currently in my final year at the University of Valenciennes in Transportation and Energy specializing in Aeronautical Engineering. I am seeking my first role in the aerospace industry and enclose my CV for your perusal.
I am keen to join a group that continues to expand globally by designing, developing and manufacturing, Mananging supply chain , Control system , impact of turbulence , using different models (CFD Analysis) and managing the products that it is known for. By working in a diverse team, I feel that I will learn more about different cultures and be a part in growing the group’s international presence. As the Bombardier is targeting emerging markets such as India, something that I would honoured to be a part of. What makes Bombardier different from other employers is the family feel amongst employees. Platforms such as OpenLine give employees the chance to speak up and let their voices be heard.
Joining the Bombardier would give me the once in a lifetime opportunity of being involved in innovate projects and concepts for future aTrains, this is essential in a world of growing passenger demand. The Electric E-Fan Aircraft is just one of the current revolutionary programmes that is in progress.
My interest in the Structures programme stems from my love of working with formulae and numbers and my proficiency in Solidworks, Catia, Ansys,Pro E, Delmia , 20Sim, Simuliknk softwares. In my international Masters
Following Subjects were deeply studied by Industrial companies
-
Management
of Projects , quality control , Project synthesis(Airbus) .
Comfort , safety ,ergonomics of aeronautics /railway/automotives. (Onera /Alstom/ Audi /daimler)
- Hybrid Traction(Daimler)
- Rolling Stock /Crash Test Analysis for vehicle/ Railway Dynamics.(Seimens)
- RAMS and System Reliabilty -(Seimens),Railway dynamics(Bombardier),
- Traction System/ Traction Motors/Power Semidconductors/Power Modules-(Alstom)
- Vehicle Dynamics, control, Aerodynamics ( Audi, Daimler, Altrain,)
- HVAC systems(ALSTOM)
- Aircraft Acoustics and Aircraft Aerodnamics(Airbus).
- SHM testing and NDT testing-(Airbus).
- Perceiving brakes for introduction of innovations in commercial trains.
Furthermore,Successfully completed my 1st internship in Indian Railways having duration of 4 weeks, in Diesel shed (New Delhi) regarding there optimisation of the engine and related components with the accessories that are employed with it and study of NDT methods for the inspection. I also worked in the Team of SAE for the reduction of carbon emmission in a Toyota Yaris by Integration of Hydraulic system for reducing carbon emmission and energy conversion, kinetic energy restoration with REGENERATIVE SHOCK ABSORBER.
I believe I possess the key competencies that would be applicable to the Structures role. Last year, I was the leader of an Aerodynamics team of I did a project on weight optimisation in the field of Aerodynamics, I developed an RC plane on NACA Airfoil digit 4 series/Solid works for a project Aero 360 and two very important projects of SAE and BAJA for design and fabrication of an open cockpit formaula Supra car and an ALL terrain Vehicle . Designing the engine mount in the vehicle on Solid works and overseeing its manufacturing, Engine assembly, Electrical circuit installation, Chassis manufacturing, Outer body design and assembly . From this experience, I learnt how to take on the responsibility of leading a team, this involved communicating with the other members of the team and listening to their ideas before coming to any conclusions. In a separate case, I conducted the initial research for my individual project and then wrote a report based on my findings. A key aspect on this project was to was work independently, this meant that I had to manage my time well and ensure that I wasn’t diverging away from my objectives. The written report gave the chance to present my findings within a page limit, this showed me how to be both concise and thorough when writing. These skills match with those that the Bombardier is looking for in graduates and hence make me a suitable candidate for this particular position.
I hope to be a part of the Bombardier in the very near future and will most certainly bring my never say never attitude to ensure that I succeed on the Graduate Programme.
