Sample cover letter for Internship position at chegg
intern
To Whom It May Concern:
I was intrigued by your internship posting on Indeed.com and am writing to inform you of my strong interest in pursing the position Social Media Intern this summer. I am a freshman at the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business interested in pursuing a career in marketing.
My experience tutoring underprivileged children would allow me to understand your target customers. In the fall of 2011 I began a tutoring club in Redwood City with the goal of bringing higher learning to all students, especially those from low-income families. Each week I tutored a class of over 30 fifth grade students in math and reading. I realized that the student’s learning difficulties and low performance stemmed from lack of sufficient learning materials. My work with students would allow me to give insight into your customers’ wants and needs.
Additionally, my social media skills would help me market Chegg services across several media platforms. In the summer 2012, I interned for Yiftee, an online consumer service for selling small and unique gifts. At Yiftee I ran social media photo contest that increased the company’s online following by 500%.
While at Yiftee, I also composed a weekly newsletter to current clients. At Chegg I would be able to use my layout and writing skills to write articles for blogs and newsletters.
Given my past experience I believe that I would make an ideal candidate for the position of Social Media Intern. If possible, I would like to be included in your interview process this spring. I appreciate your time and consideration, and I look forward to hearing from you.
