Sample cover letter for Full Time position at credit suisse

POSITION:

business analyst

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am very interested in a Full Time position as a Business Analyst in Credit Suisse’s Hong Kong Private Banking division. I am currently a student at the University of Southern California-– Marshall School of Business, studying Business Administration with a concentration in Finance. Finance has always been a passion of mine, and growing up in Hong Kong— a finance focused city–– definitely put me in the right environment and influenced my perspectives on the Asian economy. Starting from high school, I have been managing my own stock portfolio by value investing in major companies in the HSI and NASDAQ. My background in finance, experience in summer internships and passions all ideally point towards a path in the wealth management industry.

During my time at various summer internship positions, I have developed a keen attitude towards learning new things and was fully able to adapt well to a changing business environment. Particularly at PwC, I often draw from my accumulated experiences at my previous internships to successfully present solutions and maintain business relationships. During a particular project, I worked alongside a team of 7 financial services consultants to provide a seamless customer package tracking experience solution for one of the top 5 multinational logistics companies. By leveraging my proficiency in powerpoint, excel and research capabilities, I was able to facilitate the team from the beginning to product delivery. Through my coursework in Financial Derivatives, I was able to liaise with my team members to actively monitor the market and make virtual trades through a simulation program. The virtual trading project required in-depth research and analysis of the current market conditions, critical thinking skills and effective communication to maintain an optimal asset portfolio, which I consider as a scaled down reflection of the work as a Business Analyst. I am confident that I can project such expectations in a real working environment and I believe the insights and skill sets learned during the course project will be of value to a candidate applying for your graduate program.

Recently, I read an article on Tidjane Thiam proposing a possible strategy shift in Credit Suisse’s investment focus. Usually, a change in strategy takes place in response to a crisis, but I was pleasantly surprised when I discovered that not only were there no crises, Credit Suisse was instead planning ahead of the game, as the report stated that second quarter profits were beating forecasts. I am impressed at how Credit Suisse honors their promises by placing their client’s best interests at heart while constantly striving to beat market expectations. I believe in your long term vision and investment prospects coincide with my personal values, and hope to indefinitely contribute to your operations.

The prospect of joining Credit Suisse in the Private Wealth Department is extremely attractive. As an outgoing individual involved in leadership positions in professional clubs and philanthropic work, I am confident that my interpersonal skills garnered from those experiences will be useful in a client facing environment. I will be available in December for a face to face interview. Thank you for your consideration.

Regards,
