Dear Hiring Manager,

I would like to be considered for Analytics Intern position at eBay. I learned about this position through career services at Simon Business School. I believe I can be a good fit for this position.

I believe my strong analytical and software engineering skills along with my current MBA training will enable me to be an effective part of the team. Prior to Simon, I worked as a Business Analyst in Retail and Manufacturing firm. I was part of the team, and subsequently led the team, in enabling the technology to help business grow. I researched and recommended bringing open-source application to the business, thus saving money for the business. For example, I successfully complemented reporting tool Crystal Report with an open-source business intelligence tool BIRT for management dashboard. Furthermore, I initiated and persuaded business leaders to define key performance metrics that clearly measured department objectives and goals. I led a team to develop reports showing various KPIs. I worked in a team that consisted of people from different nationalities, an Arab, a Sri-Lankan and an Afghan. I learned immensely from working in such a team and it has been a highlight of my career.

In addition, I have a certificate in Analytics using R from MIT. During my MBA, I have focused on further developing my business skills, particularly understanding financial and economic aspects of any businesses, which I know are critical success factors for gaining competitive advantage.

I believe I possess the essential technological and management skills to be a successful candidate during the internship. I look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,

John Doe
