My name is ....; I am an undergraduate student currently studying towards my Bachelor’s in Arts degrees in Political Science and International Studies. In addition to pursuing two majors, I am also pursing minors in Religious Studies, Middle Eastern Studies, and a Multicultural Certificate. Supplemental to my emphasis and interest in the Middle East-North Africa region, I also study Modern Standard Arabic and Islam in both formal and informal coursework.

I am writing to you regarding opportunities for a full-time internship for the summer of 2016 during the months of May-August. I have been selected for a highly competitive Washington D.C. Summer Program for 2016. The  Program is a summer program in Washington D.C. where selected undergraduate students have the opportunity to study in a formal classroom setting and gain valuable and relevant work experience through an internship, which must be acquired independently by selected undergraduate students.

I am interested in working for an embassy.

I am confident that my experience, skills, and strong interest in the Middle East-North Africa region have prepared me to be a strong and valuable intern for your program.
