Dear Hiring Manager,
I am a senior finance major at Miami University’s Farmer School of Business, and I would like to express my interest in the Business Operating and Strategy Intern position that is listed on the Looksharp website. As a student who has studied in another country, I admire iStudee’s commitment to assisting international students develop career strategies to help them find employment in the United States. I hope to contribute my strong organizational and analytical skills to the iStudee environment.
As shown in my resume, I have maintained a job since I was 13 years old, which has given me exceptional communication and interpersonal skills that allow me to work well within a group. At Miami University, I was the leader in a project that simulated the launch of a business venture in my entrepreneurship class that challenged my analytical and leadership skills as I took charge of a fiscally reasonable strategy to grow and develop our company. Through this experience, I learned how to evaluate potential marketing and production scenarios within the context of my company’s workable business model. During this project, I also helped to develop a line of products and communicate effectively with group members to ensure that the company was run in the most efficient way possible.
During the fall of my junior year, I was lucky to study for a semester in Luxembourg. While in the country, I worked in a local elementary school two days a week and helped plan and organize the students’ activities. Initially, my lack of ability to speak the same language as the students was an impediment. However, the language barrier challenged me to learn new ways to communicate and gave me a greater appreciation for education and student development. My experiences working with international students has taught me the importance of communication between different peoples and has fostered my interest in helping to bring our two worlds closer together. iStudee I feel, is the perfect place to exercise these interests.
