I wish to apply for the Spring Insight Programme. Studying Mathematics at Imperial College allows me to develop strong quantitative skills and problem solving skills. I am passionate about the Global Markets business, because it appears to me as a fast-paced working environment filled with people with critical minds.

I have managed to build up a strong skill set from my past experiences. I developed knowledge on the Private Equity Secondary Market and gained an insight on Leveraged Buyout Modelling from my work experience at Coller Capital. Through my internship at Lloyds Bank, I broadened my business knowledge as well as my understanding of financial statements. Recently, I completed my internship in accounting when I enhanced my Microsoft Excel skills by completing different sections of audit on a daily basis. My role as a Campus Ambassador for Bloomberg endows me with valuable relationship building and marketing skills. I liaised with societies and faculties to organise events in order to promote the company’s brand and its career opportunities.
I worked as an analyst at Imperial College Consulting Group and took part in the Smart Alarm Project when I conducted market analysis to help commercialise the product. As the Head of TMT Sector at Imperial College Investment Society, I have strengthened my research and analytical skills further through stock pitch and analysis. I am also pleased to see my improved confidence and leadership skills by presenting portfolios and overseeing the operation of the society.
Through this programme, I wish to gain a deeper insight on the firm’s culture. It is a great opportunity for me to demonstrate my leadership and teamwork skills through group projects and competitions. I am also keen on learning about different functions within an investment bank and interplay between each other. I am particularly looking forward to the work shadowing opportunity, from which I could interact with senior colleagues and understand the operational dynamics of a particular function.
