I wish to apply for the position of Investment Analyst as advertised on the IFC website. I am currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Development Finance and I will graduate this autumn from the University of Manchester.

I am passionate about developing a career as an investment analyst in an international development organisation as I’ve really enjoyed courses on my masters on financing projects and economic development and I am eager to build on the technical and leadership skills I have gained. I want to work specifically for your organisation as I am impressed by your vision to end world poverty and boost developing countries prosperity by supporting the private sector investments in development projects. This and the opportunity for career progression will enable me to achieve my professional goals and be able to contribute as effectively as I can to IFC and the wider International Development industry.

I am a goal oriented professional with highly developed spreadsheet and analytical skills. I have successful worked as part of a team to produce budgeting and forecasting reports, as well as sets of audited financial statements for several companies in my previous role as audit assistant at BDO. Undertaking a Masters in development finance has further increased my knowledge in quantitative financial analysis, data management, quantitative and qualitative research skills and an understanding of financing of development projects. I was also able to work successfully across multicultural teams to analyse market data on investment projects for clients as well as analysing their historical and projected financial statements.

In addition to skills gained through my professional experience, my extracurricular activities such as undertaking voluntary experience at New Life Children’s Home, Nairobi, Kenya has equipped me with relevant communication skills, knowledge of social and community level development issues and standards.
