I am writing to express my enthusiasm in your summer internship. I am a student at Rio Hondo College

intending to transfer to Cal State Los Angeles to pursue my Bachelor’s Degree in Business, with emphasis on

Computer Information Technology. As a versatile business and computer information student, my inquisitive

nature is reinforced by my ability to think quickly, process systematically, and efficiently multi-task while

remaining detail oriented. I value team progress and can be trusted to perform diligently. These same skills I

carry with me in every aspect of my day as I work towards my life goals; one being an accomplished

project manager. I feel that your company places prominence in similar areas and having the privilege of

joining your innovative team will give me the exposure I need to advance my goals.

My present work experience is in the restaurant and food industry with Eat This Café in Hollywood. I was

initially hired as a cashier and food runner when it opened over three years ago, but was promptly trained

to become a server after proving my ability to quickly adapt, apply common sense, and utilize

observational skills. Since then, the café has built a favorable reputation with the public mainly through

Yelp users, due to the quality of product and courteous service. After performing consistently, I established

my position as one of the senior staff. My role evolved from being just a server to an entrusted and versatile

employee due to my ability to prioritize with quality.

While working at the café, I was able to network and gain a position as a producer’s assistant for the

production company DNA, Inc. I was able to work on the production of multiple music videos for artists

such as Tegan and Sara, Hunter Hayes, and The Roots. My responsibilities comprised of assisting the team

with various elements of the pre- and post-production and general administration duties. Being an admirer

of music, it was a humbling experience learning the ebb and flow of the industry, as well as the effort and

dedication needed to channel passion through art, palpably leaving me even more of a fan.

An additional interest of mine is programming. I am a volunteer at Scott Avenue Elementary and my role as

a liaison between my college and the elementary is to introduce the concept of programming. Our goal is

to teach the fundamentals at an early age and explore how their favorite apps and devices are made

and how they work. We encourage them to recognize it as a creative outlet, as well as increase their

awareness to the endless possibilities it has to offer especially in our technology-based world. Through

volunteering, I am able to share my appreciation for developing, analyzing, troubleshooting, and

improving – which are just a few of the skills that I am enriched with while studying programming.

My steadfast work ethic has proven that I am capable of growing in all aspects of the business and or

computer information field. I possess great verbal and written communication skills and blossom in a fast-

paced environment. I am an ambitious go-getter and look forward to showing you how passionate I am in

my commitments.
