I learnt and practiced the art of people management and leadership while I headed the Institute of Engineers Civil Students Chapter, Manipal as the Convener. During my tenure, the team expanded from 25 to 230 and also the club treasury augmented from deficit to surplus.

The next big turning point during my college was getting selected for an internship abroad through IAESTE (The International Association for the Exchange of Students for Technical Experience). There could not have been a better beginning to my understanding of cultural richness fused with the power of communication. I worked in a company named Ingeciber S.A. in Madrid, Spain where I was exposed to a different working environment. I learnt to work cohesively with a team and realized how a team having members from distinct backgrounds, if channelized properly, can work wonders. These 2 months instilled in me a desire to broaden my global perspective of the business world through mutual sharing of experiences.

After college, I chose to work because ‘On the Job’ experience helps in building skills that cannot be taught in the classroom. I am currently employed at Samsung Heavy Industries India Pvt. Ltd., one of the best offshore Global Engineering Companies. It was enlightening to see how even the biggest companies in the world face numerous challenges in their day to day work but what sets them apart is how they handle them. Working at SHI India has helped me grow as an individual, as a team player and built my knowledge to a point I would have otherwise thought unattainable.
