Sample cover letter for Internship position at morgan stanley

POSITION:

Investment banking

Dear Sir/Madam

My name is X and I have just completed a BA Hons Degree (International Business with Economics) achieving an average of 67%. Over the course of the next year, I aim to build upon my work experience in the finance industry. After which, I will complete a Master’s in Finance. I pride myself on being a results oriented, well-rounded student who is passionate about pursuing a career in Investment Banking. In the following, I would like to explain my motivation to join Morgan Stanley and why I believe that I am suitable for delivering excellent performance.

Morgan Stanley particularly attracts me as they strive to incorporate strong values whilst setting the bar for innovation and performance. The mix of young, and experienced professionals will provide an optimal learning environment for me to develop my skills. With my knowledge, experience and willingness to learn in both Economics and Finance I would like to do so in an environment that encourages its employees to express an entrepreneurial personality.

Throughout my studies, I have been intrigued by a variety of Economics and Finance subjects; More specifically, in-depth modules in both Micro and Macroeconomics, Derivatives, Portfolio Analysis, and Financial Development and Economic Growth. These have given me a firm grasp of analysing both quantitative and qualitative data, whilst thinking critically. Having studied at both Strathclyde and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, I have proven that I am an extremely adaptable individual who thrives whilst operating outside my comfort zone.

My past summer experience with Fintrax Group Holdings provided me with valuable experience in financial services. The role as a summer analyst required me to conduct analysis of financial reports, and build financial spread sheet models. Skills that would be beneficial whilst working in Investments. The experience also furthered my excellent interpersonal and communication skills that I have previously developed from my time as a tennis coach.

I look forward to discussing my application with you in the near future.

Yours Sincerely,
