The reasons to be attracted to work at Ofcom are many and various.
First, there is the opportunity to work for the Authority delegated to guarantee good economic regulation for the communication industries. This would mean being part of an important service for UK citizens and consumers, and for the whole economy.
Secondly, concerning the Economist graduate scheme, it would be a huge chance to improve my capability to perform economic and econometric analysis, and to do it in an exciting environment, where economics is a useful tool for Ofcom to make policy decisions. Moreover, working alongside experienced Economists, with rotations amongst different areas would be the best way to learn about the different markets involved and to grow as an economist myself. As a young and enthusiastic recent graduate, this would be extremely motivating and an invaluable experience for me.
