I am a junior at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I am writing to apply for the Reporting and Analysis Intern at Priceline.com LLC. I am very interested in the field of statistics and would welcome the opportunity to contribute my computer and research skills to this position.

My academic backgrounds has prepared me for this opportunity. I am double majoring in Statistics and Actuarial Science. I have experience in data collection and analysis through projects such as fitting a regression model using R for Boston Housing data as a part of a statistics course. My academic work has strengthened my research and writing skills as well as my understanding of the business world. In addition, I have learned how to create databases in Microsoft Access throughout my academic life – knowledge I would bring to the position.

I have also gained practical skills in my previous work experience as an office assistant with World Financial Group. I supported an insurance agent by maintaining office filing systems and analyzing data of the policyholders. One of my duties was to build a model using Excel to check the status of the policies and make sure the clients were continuously making the payments. Also, I have improved my other skills such as communication skills and leadership skills through on-campus involvement. Beyond that, these experiences have taught me how to work as a member of a team and independently.

I would value the opportunity to contribute to Priceline through this internship and to learn from experienced professionals at the company who may share their knowledge and insight.
