As a recent graduate of X Law School, I am interested in obtaining future employment as an associate with your firm. This position is of particular interest to me, as I desire to work in the areas of real estate and business litigation upon graduation. I also want to be able to work closely with an experienced and knowledgeable attorney in a growing firm like X Firm.

During my time in law school, I have gained essential experience in legal research and writing as well as a solid foundation in legal concepts and analysis. In addition, I had the opportunity to study abroad in St. Andrews, Scotland with Baylor Law School where I was able to develop important advocacy skills under the mentoring of several established trial attorneys.

I have had the privilege of interning at both the Court of Appeals at the Federal District Court. During these judicial internships, I gained further experience in research and writing as well as legal analysis as I prepared memos and orders for each court. During my internship with X, I had the opportunity to observe a variety of attorneys try cases and interact with the Judge. Through this observation, I was able to discern which legal techniques and strategies are effective for the practice of law.

While interning at X firm, I assisted with a diverse set of cases and legal issues ranging from employment discrimination to business and contract disputes. During this time, I gained further experience in legal research and writing, and also honed practical skills vital to the practice of law such as effective communication and investigation techniques. Through attending mediations, client meetings, and court hearings, I had the opportunity to see what the practice of law looks like on a daily basis.

In addition, my experience working in the business sector has given me insight into the importance of working as a team and providing excellent customer service skills to clients. Given my particular experience and skill set, I have the foundation to be a competent and effective associate attorney with your firm.
