Sample cover letter for Internship position at shell

POSITION:

process engineer

October 2016

To whom it may concern,

I am pleased to submit my CV for an Assessed Internship 2017 with Shell. I am currently in my 4th year of MEng in Chemical Engineering with Oil and Gas technologies and am keen to further expand my professional engineering industrial experience to build on the strong theoretical and project based process engineering background I have developed so far.

I find Shell’s values of providing sustainable energy and contributing to the communities they work in attractive as a young engineer, as well as the diverse nature of the staff and the mentor driven employee development schemes. These attributes all contribute to why I am keen to pursue a career with shell.

In addition, the variety of projects and the innovative approach to the development of fuel sources for the future at shell would offer me the depth and breadth of technical challenges that I would value.

I believe my educational background in Chemical Engineering would bring value to Shell, as well as my commitment and enthusiasm. I have excellent communication skills developed through multiple activities and enjoy a challenge. I am also proficient with Excel, Visio and can use Hysis for process simulation.

I have attached a CV for your consideration.

Many thanks
