Hello, I am writing to express interest for the position of 2017 Spring Engineering Internship/Co-op which I came through Glassdoor. Since a young age, I have had a passion for machines and this passion has driven me to obtain a Master's degree in ME from Michigan Technological University and seek an entry level position at a company such as The J.M.Smucker Company where I believe I will have a lot of hands on experience and add value to the company's products. I am very much interested to work with The J.M.Smucker Company as it would give me a start in my career as a professional in Manufacturing & Quality Engineering. My past experience, current coursework and specialization in the field of Manufacturing & Quality through certifications and projects would help me in performing my tasks for the job in an efficient manner.

My current coursework emphasis is based on Manufacturing & Quality Engineering. My past industry experience has been with ‘Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.’ for 3 years and 5 months with the Technical services, Customer Care department. My responsibility at Mahindra & Mahindra was to deliver a quality product which would satisfy the customer’s needs with an aim to achieve a ‘First Time Right’ product. In addition I was responsible for monitoring the quality achieved in market by the customers. The current quality level achieved were gauged through the field failure reports and conducting various quality surveys. The product improvement were achieved by implementing the countermeasures along with quality assurance team. My knowledge in the fields of Quality assurance, Lean, 5S, SAP, and certifications in Six Sigma, DFMEA and CATIA would surely help me conducting my tasks for this role efficiently. Various tasks at my workplace involved interaction with teams from R&D, Customer Quality, Manufacturing and Sourcing with presenting them the current market product quality. Such challenging tasks benefited me by mastering the skills of teamwork and communication.
