I would like to apply for the post Summer Intern in your company.

As a motivated and committed second-year civil engineering student studying in the University of Sussex in the UK, I am looking for a summer job in the engineering sector. Eagerness in exploring the construction industry as well as enthusiasm drives me to seek engagement in the sector. I am also intrigued by the way civil engineering affects the people’s living quality alongside with environmental consideration. Your company is a leading international consultant which specializes in infrastructure project and other construction work. Therefore, I would like to take this opportunity to work in your company and try to gain some insight in the meantime.

I have been working in Hang Seng Bank Limited in last summer in the private banking department. Such experience allows me to get used to office work as well as getting acquainted with documents processing software such as Microsoft Word and Excel. In the university, the programme has provided me with sound knowledge on different fields in civil engineering including structural analysis, pipes and open channel hydraulics as well as soil mechanics in geotechnical engineering. Getting involved in various projects in the University also makes me more mature in doing teamwork and capable in supporting colleagues and senior managers.
