GOT THE JOB? Yes
I came across incadea through Robbert Hacken, who is a colleague of yours, and found my interest immediately piqued. I imagine myself fitting well into incadea, thereby serving both the company and my career interests.
Please allow me to present a brief background about myself. I am 24 years old, from India and I speak German fluently. I am currently working as a Project Coordinator at the Goethe-Institut in New Delhi. I completed my Masters in German Literature and Linguistics in 2013 from Delhi University and scored the highest rank in my stream earning a university Gold medal.
The intercultural and international encounters during my exchange year in Germany increased my interest and passion for German culture even more. Following this initial exchange I continued to engage with Germany and increase my exposure through travel and research.
Being one of the leading Automotive consulting companies in Germany with branches in Asia and other countries, incadea provides the precise environmentwhere I see myself in future. The Asian economy is booming and thus it’s trade with Europe, but there are still many prejudices, cultural misunderstandings and unfounded fears that influence the opinion of many Europeans.
Besides supporting and executing cultural projects where both incadea headquarters in Germany and local circumstances in India are playing their respective part, I would also like to offer incadea internal sessions/workshops, through which participants are introduced to specific cultural codes, mannerisms and business tips and tricks prevalent in Asian countries because I believe this increases the understanding necessary to work and build a relationship with one’s local culture. As a voluntary student I organized sessions like these both in India and in Germany.
I am very flexible and always open to new experiences. I am able to adapt myself to new environments and I am willing to work with teams. I can handle stress situations well.
Please let me mention an example for this. During the recent 2014 FIFA World Cup, I undertook the overall responsibility of organizing public screenings at the Gotha-Institut. On the night of the finale we had an audience of over 1500 guests – almost double of what we usually deal with.
I gained other professional experiences in various German organizations such as at the India office of Frankfurt Book Fair and during the Indo-German Urban Mela. I have taken a course in multimedia and web technology, and try to enhance my knowledge and regularly keep in touch with innovations and advancements in the field of IT.
Currently I work in the library and information services department at the Gotha-Institut, New Delhi. My work as a project coordinator includes organizing events, exhibitions, workshops, seminars and so on to promote cultural exchange not only between Germany and India but also within the South Asian region. Together with the head of department I assist in planning the strategic objectives of the events and their execution. I write in-house articles or reports for the website on literary publications, publishing houses and other topic while also being responsible for regularly updating the website with information about our events. This responsibility extends to presenting iterations of the information to a wider audience via social media (Facebook and Twitter.)
I would be happy to take forward this conversation via Skype or telephonic interview should you require further information or clarifications. I could start working immediately. My notice period at Gotha-Institut is one month. Since it is a challenge for me to indicate a starting salary, I calculated a salary expectation of 2050 euros gross which would be a starting point of negotiations.
I am looking forward to your response.
Sincerely yours,
