Energy Efficiency Sector – Internship Program

Dear Internship Coordinator,

I am writing to express my avid interest in the Energy Efficiency Internship position at the USAID Empower Private Sector. I am currently a junior at the American University in Kosovo (R.I.T). Having the privilege of serving as an intern with you will give me that further exposure I need to advance in my future career.

During my three-month internship at “Florina” Accounting, I helped my team in managing of financial departments with responsibility for Budgets, Payroll, Accounts Payable and Receivable. I also prepared annual company accounts and reports.

In addition to my internship experience I also finished relevant coursework such as Public Policy, where I learned about policies that can improve energy efficiency while reducing oil imports, save consumers money, reduce air pollution, create jobs, and reduce prices, and that by implementing energy efficiency measures in your state you can achieve significant cost-effective reductions of greenhouse gas emissions while benefitting consumers. I developed critical tools for analyzing and deconstructing public policies, explored alternative paradigms of policy making embodying different balances of rationality, democratic participation, decentralized and centralized decision making, explored issues of fairness, justice and equity in the policy process, and inquired into how policy is embedded into broad social, political, economic and scientific theories about human behavior and the causes of public problems. I also finished Critical Thinking and Writing Seminar coursework, where I recognized, reconstructed, evaluated arguments, built critical research, developed creative thinking and problem-solving abilities by analyzing different writing styles.

I am confident that my experiences, skills and knowledge have prepared me to be a strong intern for your organization. Please feel welcome to contact me if you need any additional information.

Thank you for your consideration and time,

Kind Regards,

Erza Kastrati
