I am writing to apply for the position of Grants Assistant that I saw advertised in the Daily Nation of 21st November 2014. I have over five years of experience in ensuring proper functioning of grants management function organization. This included monitoring grants process from solicitation through close out and ensuring proper compliance with the donors regulations. In liaison with other staff, I also assisted in providing leadership roles towards supporting AMREF and Chemonics International and their partners in achieving vigorous financial and grants reporting and management.
With my experience as a Grants Assistant, with USAID and DFID Funded Programs, my roles also included; reviewing and analyzing budget estimates for all grants, analyzing, assessing and assisting with budgetary and financial aspects of the awarded grants by implementation, procurement and cash disbursement needs for the grant throughout the project lifeline. I also liaised with other field staff to document success stories and ensuring quality standards of tools, materials and reports that enabled both AMREF and Chemonics to deliver quality and effective financial and grants services to its partners.
Furthermore, as Project Assistant with AMREF Kenya HIV and AIDs program funded by SIDA and DFID, I successfully managed many project wherein I was responsible for defining goals and implementing the projects. My proven track record of overseeing and delivering projects on time and within budget makes me a very attractive candidate for your open position.
