MindSumo | Next Challenge: How can we better communicate and demonstrate the concept of Biomimicry to consumers? |
The subscription economy is about as Millennial as avocado toast. Over 90% of Millennials have active subscription services, whether its online services for music or data storage to product box subscriptions for everything from dog food to daily vitamins. With an annual growth rate of 200% since 2011, it may seem as though there's a subscription box for everything! However, we believe there remains untapped potential in the world of subscriptions, both for services and customized products.
We are interested in new ideas for subscription services or products that are not already available to consumers. Think about how you would apply the subscription model to a new service or product in a way that would be more convenient, customized, or simply more enjoyable for consumers. (Hint: If you've ever dreamed of curating your own subscription box, this could be your chance!)
Now answer the following:
- What is your idea for a new subscription service or product? Be sure to think creatively and apply the subscription model to something new, whether it's entertainment, a new type of experience, a new set of products, etc.
- Tell us how your subscription would work. What are subscribers receiving? What level of customization is happening? Please be sure to share anything crucial that would help us to better understand your idea.
- In 1-2 sentences, tell us what inspired your idea.
- What are the key benefits to consumers? Why would they want to subscribe to your idea? (If there's a specific consumer segment or demographic, please tell us here!).
Considerations:
You will be graded on a 1-10 scale for overall quality of your idea. Additionally, we will be awarding more points to submissions that are clear and concise (length does not equal quality). Last but not least, be sure you do your research on available subscriptions so that you are proposing something new!
